EU Prepares Retaliatory Tariffs on US Tech, Agriculture as Trade War Escalates

The European Union is preparing countermeasures against $12 billion worth of US imports, targeting Apple products, California wines, and Texas crude oil, according to documents obtained by CNBC. The move comes hours after Trump’s new tariffs on European autos and luxury goods.

Retaliation Plan Includes:

  • 25% tariff on iPhones and MacBooks
  • 30% levy on US agricultural exports
  • Restrictions on American cloud services
  • Fast-tracked digital tax proposal

“This isn’t 2018 – Europe won’t back down this time,” warned an EU trade official speaking anonymously. The measures could be implemented as early as next week if negotiations fail.
